The SP Pupil Tracking Tool allows teachers, headteachers or subject leaders to identify individual children's levels and progress in any National Curriculum subject from Year 1 to Year 6.
Once the levels for each term have been entered into the program, the SP Pupil Tracking Tool will:
provide diagnostic information about the progress of the whole class or groups i.e. boys / girls, potential level 4 children, high achievers, EAL, SEN etc
traffic light code the levels for each term and end of year for each pupil, comparing the levels attained to the expected level for each year.
This traffic light coding makes it easy to identify children working within or above the expected level (green), just below the expected level (yellow) or well below the expected level (red).
Children working at yellow level may need some type of intervention and children working at red level may need specific support in order to achieve age-related expectations in that subject.

allow teachers at the start of the year, or during the year, to select a target level for each pupil. The SP Pupil Tracking Tool will highlight this level in purple if the end of the year level is equal to or above the target level.
provide data analysis - The SP Pupil Tracking Tool automatically converts the End of Year level into a Points Score for each child. The head teacher, subject leader or teacher can use Points Scores to track an individual pupil's progress. Using Average Points Scores, the performance of a cohort can be monitored and year on year comparisons can be made. It also allows for comparisons between cohorts to assist strategic planning and school improvement.

show percentages of the cohort that are working well below expected level, working just below the expected level and working within or above the expected level. Headteachers, teachers and subject leaders can monitor the changes in these percentages to track cohort progress, noting any increases or decreases within these classifications. This can also be a very useful target setting tool.
generate individual pupil graphs so each child's attainment and progress can be compared to the age-related expectations for each term for every year. The graphs are a useful visual tool, making it simple to identify any dips in progress and to facilitate early intervention. The graphs can also be used to discuss children's progress with parents.

The blue line shows the levels attained by the pupil. The red markers show the level attained at the end of the year for each year.
The black line shows the age-related expected attainment for each year. The green markers show the level that is expected to be achieved by the end of the year for each year. The above graph shows Lauren was below age-related expectations up until the end of Year 2. Lauren’s teacher was able to provide early interventions and by the end of the year Lauren was working above age-related expectations.
Through analysis of the graphs, teachers can glean information that can be used for future planning and to support children whose progress is less than expected.
The tool can be used for any number of cohorts and any number of National Curriculum subjects.
